Eyewear Size Guide

Rodolfo Medina  Eyewear — Size & Fit Guide

A perfectly tailored frame is as essential as the design. Our eyewear is crafted to sit precisely, feel weightless and flatter your features. Use this guide to find your ideal size and style with confidence.

Quick overview

  • Frame size is measured in millimetres and typically shown as three numbers (lens width — bridge width — temple length), e.g. 52 ◻︎ 18 — 145.
  • The three key dimensions to know: lens (eye) width, bridge width and temple (arm) length.
  • Face width and shape determine best fit and style. We recommend trying frames in person or using our virtual try‑on for the most accurate result.

How to read the size printed on a frame

  • Example: 52 ◻︎ 18 — 145
    • 52 = lens width (mm)
    • 18 = bridge width (mm)
    • 145 = temple length (mm)
  • You may also find overall frame width or lens height listed in product details.

How to measure your face (simple at-home method)

  1. Lens width: measure the horizontal width of one eye area (optional if using frame numbers).
  2. Bridge width: measure the distance between the two eyes at the top of the nose where the frame would sit.
  3. Temple length: measure from the hinge across the ear to where the temple ends (not easy at home — use a similar pair or check our product specs).
  4. Face width: measure from temple to temple across the widest part of your face.
  5. Pupillary distance (PD): distance between pupils—important for prescription alignment. Have this measured by your optician or use our online PD tool.

Face‑shape style recommendations

  • Oval: Almost any style works. Try rectangular or aviator frames for a classic look.
  • Round: Choose angular and rectangular frames to add definition.
  • Square: Soften angles with round or oval frames.
  • Heart: Balance a narrow chin with bottom-heavy or rimless styles; aviators and cat‑eyes are flattering.
  • Diamond: Emphasize cheekbones with rimless, oval or cat‑eye frames.

How your frames should feel

  • Bridge: Secure without pinching. If adjustable nose pads sit comfortably and keep the frame stable, the bridge is right.
  • Temples: Should hug the side of your head slightly and curve over the ear without pressure.
  • Lenses: Centered in front of your pupils; no large gaps or heavy pressure on the cheeks.
  • Weight: Luxury materials should feel balanced—neither tipping forward nor sliding down.

Sunglasses vs optical fit

  • Sunglasses often have larger lens widths and greater coverage—consider fit plus sun protection needs.
  • Prescription lenses need correct PD and vertical placement (B‑measurement) for progressive lenses

Between sizes?

  • If you fall between sizes, consider:
    • Smaller size for a more fitted, refined look.
    • Larger size for comfort and extra coverage.
    • Adjustable nose pads (metal frames) can compensate for bridge differences; acetate frames can be professionally heat‑adjusted.

Luxury fit features to note

  • Adjustable nose pads: fine tune fit for narrow bridges.
  • Spring hinges: added comfort and longevity.
  • Lightweight titanium/tremendous acetate: superior comfort and balance.

  • Clean lenses with a microfibre cloth and mild lens solution.
  • Avoid placing frames lens‑down and keep in the protective case.
